When Weenie, the little dachshund, suffered from a herniated disc, his owners were distraught at the high cost of surgery to correct the problem. They called around to different vets, trying to find an affordable solution, but time was of the essence – this type of injury is a true emergency that must be treated promptly. So they reached out to Fans of Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter for help, through our Assistance Request program. The board of FANS discussed how we could help Weenie’s family afford to heal their beloved dog and were happy to assist in paying for the surgery.

Because as a young and otherwise healthy pet, Weenie deserved a chance at a happy life at home with the family that loved him. That is what FANS of WCRAS does – we provide second chances to families and their furry loved ones. And your donations are how we are able to help make that happen. Today, Weenie is once again a happy and healthy dog enjoying the life every good dog dreams of having.
